We were able to teach the kids a lot about government and the election process in real life during the past election.
There is no better way to teach kids than by using real life. After all they will grow up and become adults themselves one day. Then they will be the ones making the choice of who they would like to see as president.
I think this is a wonderful time in history regardless of how you voted. And so with the Inauguration of the new President Barak Obama I am thinking of how I can also use this event as a moment in real life to teach my kids valuable lessons.
One way that came to mind recently is an Inaugural Party.
We could decorate the house and have a grand meal. Maybe I will come up with some kind of games that we can play to jog the kids minds about the things that they learned during the elections. I am still looking for more ideas.
So now that I know I want to have an inaugural party, now I need inauguration party ideas. So I wonder if anyone else is planning to celebrate the inaguration with their kids. I did see some pretty col party decorations especially for an Inaugural party at Celebrations.com.
